Priority Productions hires interns -- and offers opportunities for private study students -- for a minimum of ten weeks in the Fall, Winter, Spring and Summer. Interns work closely with Howard Weinberg in his office on the Upper West Side of Manhattan. Responsibilities include research related to documentary projects; web design; assisting in production, video editing, social media promotion, publicity, grant writing, fundraising and general office work. Interns gain a first-hand experience of independent documentary filmmaking.
Applicants must be undergraduate college students or recent graduates and should have a strong interest and some experience in one or more of the following areas: documentary film, journalism, writing, web and graphic design, fundraising, social media, government, art.
Past interns have majored or minored in English Literature, Theatre, Film and Television Studies, Government, History, Studio Art, Computer Science, Spanish and French.

Yoon Ji Kim, Dartmouth '13
In Spring 2013 Weinberg mentored Sarah Lawrence students, teachers and graduates as they prepared seven TedX talks. Here is Ellie Roscher presenting "Thriving Girls Change the World"
Dartmouth Interns: Kimberly Soderstrom (L) and Samantha Burdman work on graphics and video editing for Sid at 90, Winter 2001.
Weinberg advocated for Maral Noshad Sharifi, an Iranian-Dutch Fulbright scholar and 2012 Columbia Journalism graduate to make a documentary on the relationship of Homeless Youth to Occupy Wall Street that grew out of her print thesis. He privately mentored her though she hadn't been enrolled in Columbia's third semester documentary program. Maral shot remarkable video during Hurricane Sandy. Her film proved the value of cross-training for interested student journalists in today's multi-media world.
